I've got the chance to buy a 82 toyota truck for 800 bucks. Its 4wd, 5spd, 22r motor, solid front axle, short bed reg cab. Its got about 250k miles. The guy said it needs a starter and maybe a carb rebuild. Here's a pic. Is it worth it? [IMG]

Hell yes it's worth it! I really wish I hadn't traded my 82 SR5 longbed back in 96. Someday I'll find another decent one to restore. But my dad bought the one I had brand new in the fall of 1981 and I was with him when he got it. My first exposure to Toyota 4x4's was in that truck. I got my hands on it and put in a 3 inch suspension lift, 33's painted it dark green, put on a visor, bolted a roll bar into the bed with some KC lights on it, and put some CRX seats and a decent stereo in it. It was really nice and it only had 90k on it when I traded it in for a 91 reg cab. I saw it about 10 years later, still on the road but beat to hell.

800 no. You can find a better condition one, running for probably 1500. But if your willing to get it running. Also looks like it may have some rust issues

Man, I love that body style, and that 4x4 has a great little stance. A tidy package from the days when small trucks were small trucks.

It's even got a truck box back there....
