1983 FJ60 110k mi

Just drove by one with a for sale sign plastered to it. Interested in buying, looking for info from the community about the questions I should ask (apart from the usual buying a used car questions).

Cursory visual inspection shows:

• No obvious leaks
• Relatively rust free frame (particularly for where its available for sale), no cancer
• Rust free body
• New carpet and seats inside, trunk needs some love
• Either the original engine, or an old ass replacement that's dirty as hell
• No air filter on the intake, just some mesh over the port
• After market front bumper

Other info:

• Cosmetics and interior look like they've been done to encourage sale (paint, chrome etc)
• Paint could be covering up bondo'd rust, but didn't get a close enough look
• Collision shop where its parked said: "Its been for sale for a while now, I bet the dude's come down on his price but we don't know what he's asking."
• Its not listed online anywhere that I can find.

Anything else I should be asking after?
Any suggestions on what a decent price might be? I know these can swing wildly based on a lot of factors, and this one looks like its been daily driven but not abused. Definitely not a garage queen.

3rd owner.
A/C and some vacuum hoses have been removed for "fuel efficiency" by owner 1 or 2, but the 3rd owner still has the A/C parts.
3rd gear slips if you stomp it.
New exhaust, wheels and tires.
Original drivetrain.
Manual everything.
Bought as a project for him and his boys, but the boys aren't interested.
