1983 LN46 2.2L Diesel power steering help

    Hello, I am attempting to add power steering to my LN46, and the PS pump I have doesn’t fit.
    I believe I have the wrong one. Can’t seem to find the part number, not sure if P/S pumps from later year Hilux will work either? If you have the same engine with power steering, would you mind sharing pictures of how its mounted.

    Engine is a L series 2.2L 2200cc diesel

    Not sure you're going to find too many similar vehicles here, I think Pirate 4x4 has a much more active Hilux owners area (could be wrong). But damn that thing is as sweet as it gets!

    Maybe start by looking at what came on 84 - 87 North American Diesel trucks w/ PS… they had the 2L, which is likely similar. www.toyodiy.com has a nice cross reference for part numbers and covers all models worldwide.

    Hi, I'm not sure that era of Hilux had power steering. I only say this as I cannot find any reference to power steering parts on partsouq.com. Granted, I've never seen a Hilux, let alone am an expert on them.

    Though rockauto.com lists a 1984 Toyota Truck diesel 2.4L (2L) with power steering. This is what that pump looks like:

    If this long shot works out you'll still need the bracket(s), lines, reservoir, and rack. This sounds like a big project. Good luck!
