Hello, I am trying to buy and import this hilux from a county I would not like to disclose. For an insanely good price. Runs great, mostly original. Cosmetic issues. But nothing serious. I’m having trouble figuring out what it’s value would be in the United States.

    Like, so many.
Are you trying to flip it? Or just make sure you’re not getting ripped off? If you feel good about the price (and whatever associated costs come with importing a vehicle) do it. Are you purchasing through a reputable source?

I don’t plan to flip it. I’d keep it for my lifetime as it’s a dream truck. The price is $2500 USA dollars…. Lol I have family within an hour of the trucks locations thats going to look at it for me. I’ve seen videos of it running. And it sounds good. I just want a rough figure of its worth here in the US. I current condition. I was thinking around 20k being that it’s so rare here

I'm pretty sure this could even be registered in California since it's a diesel!

Anyone know the exact model? It’s not a LN65. Some variation of the 1st Gen

Very neat rig. The price certainly sounds reasonable (to me). How do you plan to physically get the truck to the US? Central and South America have rail and port shipping ... but I wonder what that would cost? Central America has a lot of Toyota and Nissan left-hand drive diesels. Prices seem fair for most of them. But I always wondered about the shipping.

Driving a Hilux North to the states does sounds like an adventurous idea. However there are narco-controlled areas and border crossings to contend with. I am interested on how you plan to get it state side.

If it were me in the situation and i had a reliable source for such a vehicle and a way to get it into the country....id be hesitant to diclose that info on the forum.

If he was going through the channels of a proper importer...he wouldnt be asking the questions he is.

    Good luck OP

Well my question was not in regards to legal importation (fees, paperwork, regulations, etc.), more in the question of shipping. I see a lot of vehicles going South into Mexico. I also see a lot of imports coming from Japan and Western Europe. But I don't see many coming *from* Central America.

The truck is now in the US. I shipped the truck via ship in a container. Took approx.3 weeks drive way to drive way.

If you found it online then it’s from Nicaragua. Still haven’t found out if they’re scams but I see these posted often in random places
