It has a L in it, non turbo. I just got a 22r that I’m going to put in it for the time being while I fix up the L. The L runs good but I want to do a total rebuild on it before I romp on it. Trying to find a exhaust manifold for the L 2.2 it’s becoming challenging to find one

Truck is coming a long slowly. Just sourcing parts. Here n there. Will start body work very soon. Sourced a 22R that I will be putting in the truck for the time being. Which will allow me to still drive the truck while I do a complete resto/rebuild on the original L 2.2 diesel.

The last few months Ive been working on all the electrical work. Fixing and replacing old wires, bad connections and installing all new lights. The only thing not working/hooked up at the moment is the 4x4 indicator light. Which I’m trying to locate on the L45 transmission. I just purchased a welder to begin body work. Now that the weather is cooling down the work will pick up on the truck. I have lots of new parts waiting to be installed. I’m also working on getting the truck registered soon.

Very cool truck! Congratulations! My best friend has an '84 with a 2L diesel. (American version) The motor is bad, though. If you know of any 2L or 2L-T's anywhere that are for sale, I would appreciate the info. Being an '84, his is a 2.4 liter.

This being electronically fuel injected, would it be compatible with an '84? Could you remove the EFI components and use the original stuff?

Since it's 30 years old, in a lot of States it's considered an Antique and can be registered as one. One suggestion is to contact Insurance companies that will write policies for them and see if you can get a value on it from from them. There are some use restrictions on a vehicle registered as an Antique, but it's mainly related to not using it as you're regular means of transportation. The price is usually very reasonable as well. There are also value guides they use for antiques as well they use them to appraise them. I have never checked but they are probably also available on-line. As long as all the paperwork trail is clean and the local state authorities are happy, I doubt they care about where it came from.

Good luck! I'm a year late to the party....:sorry: I hate it when that happens. Still: I wish it was sitting in my garage!

EDIT: See you got it home. Have fun! The above still applies if you need to get it insured as to value. Maybe fill in the blanks of the story on how you accomplished this adventure and how it went. I'm sure it would be a great read. (specifics as to where it all started and final destination is not important or advised) :proposetoast:
