I am reluctantly selling my Grumman Canoe. Moving in the near future and my options are to sell it or store it at my brothers house and essentially not use it. That being said, I'm not in a huge rush to sell; so please no low ball offers. These canoes sell for just under $1500 new.

Grumman canoes are built in Marathon, NY, and are 100% aluminum. She weight in somewhere around 75lbs. I can put it on my truck cap by myself without a problem. I am willing to deliver it within reason. It comes with 2 paddles, a mount for a trolling motor, and 2 seat cushions that are also flotation devices (purchased from west marine last summer).

I fish a lot, and this canoe is perfect for me by myself or with multiple friends. It is rated to support over 800lbs. The Canoe is in great shape, I spent a Sunday afternoon last summer cleaning it with marine grade aluminum cleaner. The picture of the serial number is what the whole canoe looked like before I polished her up. You wont find cleaner Grumman canoe on craigslist. I actually use this canoe frequently, its not just sitting in my yard for the last 5 years or something.

Here is a review that I found helpful when deciding to buy it in the first place:

Writing this review has made me even more reluctant to sell it. Asking $450 currently.

Thanks for the advice, I'm seriously considering keeping it and just storing it at my brothers house. In a few years his kids will be old enough to enjoy it.

I love Grummans, lots and lots of tripping in them. As I've gotten older, I find I need something lighter for long portages. This is such a classic canoe, you should definitely keep it. It will last forever. I used to have one that I used Grumman sponsons on for moose hunting, and one time it carried a whole quartered moose across a lake. Bullet proof. We even used a side mounted 6hp Evinrude on ours.

I don't like (didn't like) the aluminum canoe I had because it was noisy and damage from rocks in our shallow rivers was harder to repair than other materials. I didn't like the reflection inside (glare) in our southern sun much either. Or the heat it could store in the summer.

So yea, I swapped it for a glass one.

    However.

If I owned it and used it as you apparently have, and enjoyed it, I'd sure keep it. You'll never replace it for the $ you currently have in it. If you have a place to store it, do it! As soon as those kids are old enough to hit the water, you'll be glad you did. My grands, from 6-10, all love to kayak, either as a passenger or as the 'main' in flat shallow lakes. So much better to be out doing that than going numb with video games!

Hello Greg, I'd like to buy your canoe. I've decided on the Eagle model as the one for me and since I've come across yours in two different places, I think it's a sign... and I drive a Toyota (but not a Tacoma, sssh, don't tell anyone - I have a 4 Runner). I live in Kentucky but have a good friend in Templeton, MA who could make the payment and pick up. If any of this sounds good, please call me at (502) 500-9700. Thanks. Hope to hear from you! - Garth
