@ColoradoTJ Question on your 5.3l setup. Are you running a Cam? or stock.
Looking for recommendations, if anyone has any brand they prefer please explain why.
    thanks!

I will run LS6 style intake, and maybe a mild cam. For my application, I’m running LS3 exhaust manifolds instead of headers (heat, etc).

Well.. The engine itself unfortunately isn't in the kind of shape I thought it was originally. I guess that's the price you pay when you buy used.
Penciling everything I need to make this engine tip top again would cost about $970'ish. O'reilly price matches on all their long blocks, and they come with a 3 year unlimited warranty. Picking up a long block for $1130 after tax this afternoon.

    Well,
Forgot to take pictures of the current progress. But I got the new "new" engine in and we dressed it all purdy last night. Trying to remember where all the nuts and bolts went was fun.. If I ever do this again i'll make sure to at least color coat things, instead of just tossing it all in a bucket

In other news, I sold the old 4x4 4l60E for $450 last night, and I have someone coming this afternoon for the transmission originally in the s15 for $200 bucks.
This should cover the cost of a newer 4l60E 2WD transmission off of craigslist or FB market place.

Hopefully tonight we will have the engine at least sitting in the S15. :fingerscrossed:

Not to much progress been busy with work. Looks like my company is selling out so I’ll probably have less time as the merger goes on in the next couple months. but I did pick up a 4l60e 2wd today has under 60k on it. Should last me awhile.

First test fit, everything cleared great, I’m super excited to see the engine sit in the truck. Trans cross member will be in later this week and we’ll see how everything sits with the trans in.

Not a whole lot of progress has been made. With this government shutdown in WA, my shop is staying open, for now anyways. But we've been busier than hell with all government coming in for supplies needed. Which hasn't given me a whole lot of time to work on the truck.
Engine is mounted, trans is mounted. The trans adapter from transap worked out great, everything lined up awesome.
I did have to pound in the engine cross member so the starter would fit. I was going to try and reused the stock headers, but it looks like they hit the steering shaft, might have to modify something to get them to fit.
Not sure if shorties will help but that might be the way i have to go.
Sorry for the jumbled post, will try and get more pics soon.
Also, if any one has any experience wiring that i could ask a couple questions to, that'd be great. Never spliced two harnesses together like this, so it should be fun

Made custom fuel lines today, going to have to braze the correct fittings on the existing lines on the truck. I want to run -6 AN throughout the fuel system, to keep things simple when i'm making, and ordering parts at work for it.

Friend of mine put an LS2 with a 6 speed in an early 90’a S10, it was crazy fast. Have fun with this and be careful!

Anyone familiar with 4l60E transmission wiring? Stuck trying to figure out how to bypass the NSS. My wire colors are different than every other picture i've seen online.
