So now I'm known as the unofficial forum HVAC expert and truck stalker? :D

Looks like what Marty McFly would have traded his first Toyota truck for when he got out of college and his band got really successful!

I shared with a friend on Tundras.com who goes by the username "Marty McFly." I hope you don't mind!

    I'll take it...

FUN FACT: In Doylestown, I'm known by local police not as a troublemaker, but as "that guy whose custom Tacoma got hit by a drunk driver the one time"... :D

What I'm curious to know is how a Toyota truck that's almost 30 years old, and in Vermont, is not rusted so badly that it's about to break in half?!?!

Probably because it was made in Japan and not here. US production started in 1991.

    Ah yes, Japanese steel...

Well, at least most of the truck was probably made in Japan. The bed probably came from here!

Makes sense, maybe it's just me but you never hear of 4runners suffering the same rust issues as Tacomas do.

Yeah those engines were great until Toyota had to crush 99% of the trucks in New England, the North Atlantic & the Midwest. Give me a 22RE & a J Vin all day long.
Pics i took of my Vermont dealer's 1GEN graveyard back in the day.

Loved my old ‘89 with 22RE / 5 speed. It was what I had before the 3RZ truck.

The 3.slow v6 was a smear on Toyota's reputation for building great motors. The ones that weren't plagued by head gasket failures may have lasted awhile but were still grossly underpowered for a v6. Toyota redeemed itself with the 3.4l v6 when the Tacoma came about in '95. That 90 sure is a beautiful truck though.
