1991 22RE Is VIN stamped on Engine/Transmission?

    Is the VIN or partial VIN stamped on the 1991 22RE Engine or 5spd transmission? I see a stamped 7 digit number on the block behind the alternator that the manual says is an Engine I.D. number but it doesn't match the last 7 digits of my VIN.
