While it’s not my taste… the local celebrity is likely staying until I can find another window.. I can tell it’s been on there long enough that it’s going to be etched into the glass.

plus it’s the identifier that this is the car that’s in the tutorial videos lol

Nice build. Been looking for one of these, but they are getting expensive. Cool cars, definitely turning into a classic.

She’s officially alive. Still ALOT to do. But it’s running. Now brakes, cooling system, suspension. Etc.

Rebuilt my rear calipers. Can finally get brakes on this thing.

yes I didn’t paint them. They’re a short lived thing on this car ideally. I hope to go with Wilhelm wilwood brake kit all the way around in the future. Also, these things are so dam. Complex due to the parking brake, I really couldn’t be bothered. If anything before I start driving it a lot I’ll give it the rattle can treatment off the car so the visable parts of it are decent looking

Drove it a bit for the first time proper. Only in the back lot since tires are still sketch and the rear pads haven’t shown up, so no rear brakes still…

things fast. And the LSD is very aggressive. https://youtu.be/TxAFJmiqTGY

I have secured TRD lowering springs, stock struts (for the housings to do konis) a new rear glass for eventual replacement due to the etched into the glass stickers, some headlight buckets. And a mirror. (Driver side mirror is cracked)

I also cut the rear rotors tonight. I’ll mess with fronts tomorrow. Oem pads coming tomorrow for the rear. Front I’m going to use what’s on the car l, they appear to be fine other than just sitting forever
This car will be getting wilwoods before too long, so I’m avoiding spending a lot on the stock brakes (damn rear rotors are 250 a set just because it’s a turbo model)

Still a ton left before I feel comfortable actually driving it in the street. But I have 4 wheel brakes.. pedal feels like shit still. But it stops. 2 pumps to get full affect. Will attempt to re bleed, and I still need to rebuild front calipers. Both have seized lower pins. So tomorrow I should be able to get those freed up at least.

but tonight I tossed what interior I have back in, and put a stock wheel on for now (celica or supra 3 spoke is the goal with black leather and tan stitching)

    @TacoFergie

one of the FMW regulars had the springs for sale and the headlight assemblies. + a rear glass. And stock strut housings. He’s going to be in my area in October. So the plans TRD lowering springs, Koni inserts, and all new bushings for suspension

Car is home. First real drive on a. Street, it has accepted the loss of boost and embraces n/a glory.

This is going to be a great project to watch!! The 2GR is is in my plans for my MR2 as well. But I have other expenses before going that far, like building a house. lol Mine is just a 91 NA 5spd, all stock. Had one in 02-06 same color and engine, but my "new" one has power windows!! lol Since I am saving and planning towards building a house, it's probably going to stay stock for a while with the exception of maybe lowering it and some different wheels.

    IMG-2449.jpg

    IMG-2531.jpg

It's really cool that it was one of Frankenstein's cars too. I'd love to meet him, just watching his videos he seems like a mad scientist!! The work he has done on the 2AR is also very intriguing, I can't wait to see it possibly hit 300whp. Heck, where he's at with it right now is impressive considering it's a lot of OEM parts.

I'm curious what yours will make with the Hybrid pistons once you hit the dyno. Has anyone done those pistons yet? Also, why not go for the E351 transmission? That's the transmission I have in my plans for the taller gearing so I'm not shifting quite as much, lower RPM on the interstate and availability of course. Granted my goals aren't lofty, just going for a fun street car since I'm in NW IA and don't have any tracks or auto-x events around me. I'm kind of glad I have to wait a little while to start the swap process since there is quite a bit of development happening right now with cams, intake manifolds and other little tricks to squeak out more power. I'm guessing once more cam options and intake manifolds are developed that it won't be hard to get 350whp out of the 2gr NA. Plus they sound amazing!!!!

I was already vested in the 153 by the time alex and Marc got the 351 parts out. Me and Marc rebuilt the trans. It’s as good as a 153 gets.

hopefully next month Marc’s ready, we plan on getting the car to the dyno soon as possible.

Alex Wilhelm is the only other one that has these pistons. I did the swap first, he followed suit after I confirmed they fit without valve clearance issues. He was running before me though. If you use discord, there’s a FMW discord we’re all in

I wish mine was as clean as yours. But mine came with free clout lol

cars still at home.. slowly working on rewiring this mess. i have a 2000 solara radio i'll be tossing in.. luckily all 3 factory amps are still here.. but the speakers are walmart trash. wont get an amazing sound system. but i'll be replacing all the speakers with something better. amps need to be rewired too. as well as the speakers... the kid that owned this car before it was parked really was a hack
    [IMG]

have decided stock wheels are getting put up. 17x8 and 17x9 with 215/40s up front and 245/40 in the rear. rpf1 (because they're cheap, and light)

probably order them over the winter after my end of the year bonus hits.

I've been curious about using OEM radios from other models and using a steering wheel from the vehicle it comes out of for steering wheel radio controls. Mainly been looking at Scion xB/TC since they are a simple systems and have bluetooth in the later models, plus they are cheap. Although, I'm not sure if they will fit width wise. From what I remember in my xB, they were slightly wider than a standard double din radio.
