It’s got more to give with minimal effort (and slight tuning) but as of now, I believe it’s the highest e153 equiped car they’ve had on the dyno there without cams

That thing sounds great and seems to have more power than most 2gr's with stock cams that I have seen. How much more do you think it has in it?

it should be able to crest 300hp. with cams eventually i'll be north of 320 i hope. but for now its a happy place till the rest of the cars situated. the high compression really added to the midrange. this dyno chart is a comparison of my car vs a car with the 2gr and cams on stock compression.. this one eeked out more top end barely. but my power curve is nicer and more power everywhere else

this other car was running kelfords small "drop in" cams. the larger cams likely would be alot more top end. but again, the mid range would be meh. we ran both these cars the same day.

I didn't realize you went up in compression. Was it from the pistons or did you get the heads milled? If it was pistons, did you use 2GR-FSE or FXE pistons? I assume you used the 2GR-FE since most people use that due to the FSE and FXE engines having direct injection/dual injection. I think there are a few people that have used the FSE or FXE, but I don't know that there is much documentation on them.

The FXE pistons are drop in. It’s the hybrid version of the FE. But my engine started as an engine core from a 2011 rav4 with 120k miles.

That's an awesome upgrade using OEM parts. Was there anything else you had to do for those pistons to work? I recall there was something that had to be done with the camshaft advance for the valves to clear.

Can't wait to see how Frankenstein's intake manifold will perform once he hits the dyno!! Looks like it'll help a lot.

Nothing crazy. I’m running FE cams. No funky timing. I do plan on trying the Kelford cams in it later though.

We were going to try the intake. But the adapters we had to use wouldn’t clear the strut tower. So that’s saved for another day.

Are you redoing all the body work?? If so, do you know whre to get rocker panels? Mine have a tiny amount of bubbling towards the rear and pinch welds are weak so they can't be used for jacking/jack stands.

MR2ben sells replacement panels. Mine are still solid. I’m just doing the front end and fixing a dent on the left rear quarter for now

The mr2 is officially plated and insured.

I also finally put the Mercedes in my name

just a bumper left to paint, then it’s first drive to work so I can look at the speedo issue
