I mean I love your irrational purchases, but you have way too many cars.

But he could sell and make money. He could. If he wanted to.

One day, long in the future, when gasoline is outlawed and teleportation is the method of transportation, he’ll be making bootleg gasoline, covered head to town in illegal car rust, hiding his cars with elaborate underground garages.

stretched shift cable. Put it in park, didn’t fully engage the lock on the column. So sitting at work with the door open after 1 minute as I’m loading stuff the thing popped into reverse and peeled the door back

    Yeah.
Now I know why you didn't volunteer the info, lol. I hate when I break my own stuff.

I am working on cleaning out the garage, and my wife came out to chat for a minute yesterday. She fesses up that she might have hit the garage door a little backing out too soon. We live in a safe place at the very back of a neighborhood, but she is freaked out that someone is going to snatch her and insists on starting her vehicle and locking the doors before opening the garage door. Probably read that in Reader's Digest. Luckily only minor cosmetic damage.

Well a few weeks ago the clutch decided it no longer wanted to release. pulled the transmission, pressure plate is the issue.. oh well. seems to have been partially dragging for a bit.. but took this as an excuse to get the 3.6 gears and quaife LSD into the brand new transmission.. so currently have the mr2 apart at home and a transmission in pieces.

going from 4.2 final to a 3.6 final should help ALOT with street ability.. yea it wont be as violent accelerating.. but i can fix that with more power.. LOL, it is also getting a custom limited run 5th gear to further enhance the street manners. (i got tired of 4000 rpm at 80 mph.)

between the stupid hard to find 1993 camry v6 e53 3.6 gears, the quaife lsd and some one off gears... oh and a brand new transmission... yea.. i've dropped like 5 grand on a transmission. that i have to assemble. LOL.... dont buy cars kids... drugs are cheaper

this is the stuff of peoples nightmares.

but its together now... just some interesting looks inside a manual... going to try and get it in the car tomorrow with the new clutch

so we have a 1993 mr2 transmission, that was brand new
ripped open to install a 1992 camry final drive (3.6 instead of the stock 4.2)
and a custom taller 5th gear... this car will now be capable of 40 mpg if i keep my foot out of it... 5th is purely for economy now. 1-4 is still stock mr2 ratios. but the 3.6 final lets me use the v6 torque more effectively rather than shifting every 2 seconds

HOPEFULLY I NEVER HAVE TO OPEN THIS ONE UP AGAIN. the old one is getting the diff that came out of this one and the 5th gear. my other 93 is getting a 2.7 with the old transmission

transmissions been good. clutch is still slightly weird. but its not like before (now im just fighting normal performance e153 clutch issues) still driving it since the weathers been nice.. put another 1000 miles on it with the new transmission already. quaife LSD is fantastic. car wants to do what i want it to do and feels far more controlable

installed the 94+ taillights today and the carbon fiber center panel to go with them. just need to locate a lock cylinder (or go with the repro one that uses the wrong key)

    Yeah.
Looks good! I'm kind of partial to the originals, but it's mainly nostalgia. I see you got a new plate, too!

    Yup, historic now.

the old lights are needed for my 91 to become road legal. So they’re still getting used

I like the more modern lights. I have to get the emblem on though the lack of emblem bothers me

The center panel will look much better with an emblem, those lights tho... they didn't age as gracefully as the originals. Me as a kid in 2004 playing NFSU2, yeah I probably would have liked the new ones haha
