So I ended up moving my "off road" (driving) lights. I wanted to put them on top of the bumper again, but figured I'd see how I like this before drilling holes. These two holes were pre-drilled into the bottom of the metal part of the bumper.

I used metal cutters to cut some of the plastic off of the lower valence to gain clearance for the lights. I think it turned out way better then what I had before, and I can already tell they're brighter because I was able to get a much better ground on the lights.

Sorry for all the salt/road crap, I hate it too!

Today I added some things to the truck :D When I bought my new CB antenna and PA speaker from Radioshack I spent about $80, so I got a coupon off for $10 there. Just so happens I got a late Christmas card last night

I bought a red LED with the resister built in, and wired it to my fog lights and put it above the switch, so now when my fogs are on the red LED lights up on the dash. Good to have because I've pulled out on the highway with them being on, and while they aren't going to blind anyone, they are pretty bright and it's just kind of a respect thing to turn them off. Cost was $2.49 and took about 10 minutes to install.

I also bought a spring for my CB antenna. I put it on in the parking lot and was disappointed to find that it made the antenna sag horribly bad when I wasn't even moving. When I pulled back out onto the highway it was at more then a 45 degree angle back. So I decided to take it off, but it wasn't a waste. I do a lot of trail riding (in the summer when I can), and with a lot of low hanging tree branches I'll just have to get out and manually put it on if I'm going down a trail like that. So for now it'll just sit in my glove box. It was $4.99 and takes about 20 seconds to install, haha.

I also got a bunch of LED flashlights that were on sale. Only ended up spending like $11 something, but most of the cost was the flashlights. One huge one, two regular ones, and a mini one; all LED.

I was going to take pictures but my phone was being a POS so I'll take some another time.

I thought you had already hooked up the lights to a switch? and with the cb dont you really only need it during trail rides?

Yeah they've always been ran to a switch but the switch isn't lighted. So I put the LED wired with the switch to the lights so when my lights are on the switch comes on.

And yeah, when you're riding with someone else a CB is good to have, but a CB is also good to have on the highway as well. Channel 9 is the official emergency channel and channel 19 is the unofficial trucker's highway channel.

If you ever pull up to a traffic jam channel 19 is a good source of information. I leave it on when I'm driving whenever because a lot of times you'll hear info on where cops are sitting, where accidents are, what parts of the road to avoid, etc.

Finally got a bumper haha. It's a good ol' fashioned piece of wood

I got tired of being pulled over. It's kind of just a temporary thing, just to get me by until it's warmer to put a real one on. I might just not perm fix it though. Might get a newer truck by then :D

Also moved my radar detector to by my rear view mirror. I ran the wire up through the headliner, down the A pillar, and relocated my 12v cigarette lighter plug to just by the fuse box. Looks really clean and was super easy.

(I'll put a pic of that up eventually)

And of course, a sticker update

Nice! I plan on taking a trip out there late this summer. I'm hoping to move out there again within the next couple years. It'll be cool to already have people to go wheeling with :D

I'd take my t100  haha. And out to Omaha! I have a sister that still lives out there, and she just had a baby. We normally go out once a year but I might make a special trip out there for the summer.

Do you mean like a roll bar or a bed cage? I want a roll bar so bad but they're so hard to find used, and I don't have the knowledge to build one. I think it would look sweet on your truck! Instead of moving your lights there you should just buy more  listen to me over here spending your money haha.

Hahaha both would look good but mine is just a bar to Mount an antenna and lights facing backwards to light up the bed when I'm loading it not as cool  I think a bar with lights up by the roof facing forward would look sick! (put a pic on my build)

    Throwback Sunday?

I found this picture on my mom's Facebook. It was about 5 minutes into my ownership of my first Toyota truck. I couldn't figure out how to close my hood properly, that's why the bungee was on there. But it's all good now :) And no, I'm not using that rim & tire on the rear left side. That's the spare

Also, don't mind the ugly fat guy on the right, that's just me haha

    344bl9j_74ad1f7d701b48a6cafb07b9a2ab54b1c4417d5a.jpg

This doesn't have anything to do with my build, but this is my nephew, who was born on 11/13/13. He's such a cutie! Had to share this, hopefully in about 18 years he'll be a Toyota fan!
