    Long time lurker, first post...

    I have a 95 (actually bought in September of 94) Taco 4x4 with a 2.7L 4cyl.

The fan will cut out sometimes. Doesn't matter if it's on low/med or high. Then, after a few seconds it'll come back on most of the time. Sometimes it stays off until the next day, and when I crank up, it'll be fine. It happend last summer, didn't happen all winter, but now that it's summer this issue has cropped back up.

It's not that big of a deal for me personally, but I have 2 kids and when I'm taking them home from daycare and my truck is hot I feel terrible. It's not that hot yet so 'windows down is FUN kids' is still working at the moment. Texas summer is fast approaching and I'd like to get this taken care of before we get strings of 100 degree days.

    Thanks for your help guys.

    Thanks dispatch55126!

Question: If I've kept the fan speed setting on high and not used any of the lower settings and it still cuts off would that still be the resistor? I guess I'm asking if, once the resistor has built up corrosion will it effect the blower even at full (no resistor) speed?

    Thanks again man!

I had/have the same problem with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I am pretty sure is the fan motor. What you can do is remove the motor and clean it with Electric contact cleaner then spray some electric lubricant. It might help for a couple of more months but at the end you probably will need to replace the motor.

Good point. If it cuts out on high it might be something like the motor.
