Few nights ago I had the battery light come on, I thought oh shit alternator just went. 30 min drive home and the light goes out, I think ok maybe I have some time.

Last night no batt light, but the passenger HID starts flashing out, I knew to pull over immediately. Car died. Easiest thing to do was to run to Walmart and get a new battery (11pm) and get the car home. So today on my day off I'm doing an alternator change. Came out through the top, but man that thing has maybe 5mm of clearance. Crazy.

Funny how rare an alt is for these cars now. These things used to be all over the place. Napa, Oreillys, Advanced, and even Honda nope. Autozone, had one. Eh, guess I'll settle for that.
Can't even order a new one from the dealer, all we have are remans now.

stuff is definitely getting rare as the cars age out. unfortunate. ive now bought 2 window switches for mine and they both just semi work. i need to try to clean the contacts and see if that helps at all

thats the worst part, you figure the newest integra is 17 going on 18 years old at this point. Everytime i see one pop up in the upull yard i make a stop and see if anything is worth getting just to stockpile some just in case parts. last few months or so, there hasnt been any in the one by me.

I've thought about picking up cheap Integras on Craigslist/Marketplace and starting my own junkyard in my backyard lol. Stripping hardware, cleaning it up and sending off for yellow zinc coating. I need a clean driver rear quarter too.

At least you're far enough south you shouldnt need to worry much about finding a replacement part without rust. I snagged mine from a salvage yard in SC.

I might be starting my own personal pick and pull faster than planned. Dude at work has an ek? Civic hatch in rough shape for $1500. The kicker is it has a 96-97 spec Type-R longblock in it. Trans is just a B16, but that's cool. I'd pull the engine/trans and either part out the shell or sell whole.

That sounds like a good investment if you ask me, just for the motor!

    How's yours on oil?
I've still got my pan seep, but I never see a drop on the ground nor smoke, but mine consumes some. I'm thinking 200k+ valve seals.

I'm not sure how much mine consumes, i definitely have a substantial leak at the pan though. I think i just need a new oil pan, its original to the car. I'm sure the lip is not as true as it once was, i'm not sure if its even feasible to try and tap it flat again or just spring for a new pan. I thought with the myhondahabit gasket kit it would solve the problem, but it did not.

i'm thinking mine is a warped pan lip where it meets the block. Its got 223K on it, and it definitely looks like it lol

The Mugen pan came with an oem gasket which I'll try next. I'm revamping the Tacoma's front susp, and wheel/tire combo this weekend, then the Teg will go back under the knife.

Took a little road trip with the Integra this weekend for my birthday. Me and the fam packed up in the car and drove to Melt Bar and Grilled in Akron Ohio on Saturday. It was something like a 2.5 hour drive. The car drove great, down to one CEL now - the high voltage primary o2 sensor. I think I'm definitely getting older (obviously, it was my birthday),I can no longer stand the exhaust on this car. Putting around here where speed limit is at most 55, RPMs are kept in what i am calling the tolerable range. On the interstate doing almost 80 for 45 minutes or an hour is what i am now calling the absolutely intolerable range. My wife was yelling at me to talk, my ears were slightly ringing when we stopped, and somehow the drone and buzziness kept my son asleep the entire time in his car seat. I'm very much over this exhaust to say the least. but, back to the trip with some pictures.

    Heading to the turnpike

Getting into Ohio pretty quickly - by the way, is it Ohio's fault or Pennsylvania's fault that there is an additional toll of $7.45 to get out of Ohio and back into PA? Its either the penalty fee for leaving Ohio, or the fee for the privilege of getting to Pennsylvania lol

A little sunset action on the way home, and the latest mileage reading on the car.

Other than the exhaust and my cruise control not working (still havent diagnosed this one yet), the car was great on the trip.
