I have some small updates from the weekend's work.

Passenger rear door's window motor is done minus the vapor barrier and the door panel. New to me door glass is in, the new motor moves that thing so fast lol. Glass all aligned correctly and didnt hear any issues. Also replaced the window trim piece with one that was much better looking than the one that was on there.

I also changed out the door's weather stripping with again the new to me weather stripping. Mine had a couple of tears at the bottom of the door and the replacements were solid.

I also cleaned out the door checks on both doors, the doors now open smoothly and easily. Before, it felt like i was dragging the doors across something.

While i was working on the driver's side, i noticed something about the felt pads on the window rides on. I initially thought the felt was worn away on a few of these, turns out it was just that dirty and matted down.

Before (not the best example, others were way worse but i had already cleaned them by the time i decided to take a picture)

After about 2 minutes with a nylon brush
    [IMG]

All of the extras all cleaned up too
    [IMG]

Unless i missed it in the manual, they dont really list a good method on removing the window motor from the regulator. And it is spring loaded as i found out with the first one, not sure why i didnt think of that but it scared the crap out of me when shit when flying. So here is the method i used to keep everything aligned while changing out the motor.

Motor and regulator back in the door.

I didnt put the new glass back in yet, i found a couple of rust spots where the door trim sat that i wanted to treat before i put the glass back in. Hard to see, but i sanded the rust down and put 2 coats of chassis saver in the spots.

Once the new glass is installed, i'll do the front 2. Hopefully that goes just as smooth as the rears, then after i'm done with the doors i'll move back up to the front of the car and work on swapping out that core support.

I love my garage, the entire second floor is housing all of my extra parts right now.

I had both of my kero heaters running, it actually made it tolerable to work in the garage while it was 28 degrees or so outside lol.

its true, its going to take a very specific person to want this stuff. During my rebuild, i would find a part i needed for pretty cheap and go pick it up. Then a few months later, i would find one in better shape, and then i would find another one in even better shape. So now i have really good parts on my car, but i have a garage full of the extras lol

haha at least you have them if something ever happens i guess. if you ever see any DAs at the yards keep an eye out for an interior carpet in decent shape will you? thats the only thing i really want (obviously pay for time/shipping)

edit: found one in a local yard finally. going to try to sneak over there to take a look this afternoon

Good luck, they are usually one of the first things to get trashed in the yards around here. If it sucks, i'll keep an eye out around here.

i went ahead and grabbed it. its dirty but no holes or anything so i think a nice pressure wash and deep clean will do nicely.

saw the window moldings but i messed one up since i was in a hurry so i didnt bother grabbing them either

Nice, I have a 96 GS-R coupe, just passed 63k couple of months ago. Bought it in 2009 when it had about 53k on it.

Is that a replica lip or the real deal? How is it attached?

What kind of antenna is that?

Both the old lip and the new lip are replicas. The old one fit better from what i remember but there was no saving it. For the new one (ebay special) I used a combination of the hardware they gave and some oem type r hardware to make it fit. The antenna on the first page was a shark s2000 antenna. I shaved the antenna hole off for this iteration of the car and now i have a windshield mount antenna in the rear window.

Last night i decided to separate my extra set of headlights so i can practice my cutting etc.. for my S2000 retrofit project.

    The first one was good.

The other side is junk, looks like its been leaking for a while and just ruined the high beam shield and the mounting bracket itself.

so i have one i can practice with for now, i think i have one other extra headlight assembly, but i cant remember what side of the car its for.

My lip just came with two screws. I'm guessing they go on the ends of the bumper right in front of the tires.

Do you have pics of the hardware? I'm guessing you have S brackets and OEM clip brackets?
