1996 SR5 3.4 Auto 4x4, Rusty Taco Supreme Build

Heres my 2nd build.

1996 Tacoma SR5 3.4 Auto 4x4.
Evergreen Pearl with SR5 Decals.

Fully loaded interior.
Sport Seats
Triple Switch Map/Dome Light
Ignition Key Light
Power Mirrors
Cruise Control
Clock

The engine was supposedly replaced with a lower mile one.
The starter is missing and the flex plate is broken all to hell.

Major rust on the frame and body. The previous owner should of taken this for the frame recall.

 

I bought a starter and installed it but it just grinds on the broken flex plate. Should have a flex plate in a couple days. Will update soon.

 

Holly shit, who did this frame repair. If the previous owner did this, that's absolutely frighting to think of someone driving it on the road like that. I hope that you picked this truck up on the cheap, and that you have extensive welding skills to repair and fix it.

 

That duct tape frame repair is absolutely wild. Those seats and doors are awesome though

 

Yes to all of that and I definitely didnt do that jank ass "repair". I dont roll like that.

 

Been so busy, this thing has still been siting.

I still need to get the flex plate to get it to run.

I was thinking about getting wheel adapters/spacers for my other truck and the tires looked super spaced out on this truck to me,
so I thought I would have a look to see if they were on this truck.

I was right, but discovered a bunch of other non sense. Also the spacers are bigger than I want to use. I didn't measure them but they looked like they are over 2 inches
and I would only use 1.5 at most.




Then I discovered the threads are barely grabbing.


Then I discovered a nut is missing.


Then I discovered they cut the sensor.


Then I discovered Im an idiot for buying a truck from idiots.

 

Are those seats from a 4Runner?

Just wanted to mention that the 95-2000 tacomas did not get replacement frames. Toyota would buy them back and crush them.

What are your plans for the frame?

 

Stock sport seats. I guess they also used to use sport seats in the SR5 trucks.

 

IDK. There was a frame in CA I was thinking of getting. But I just drove from there and I don't really want to drive back and forth this soon.

I assume the buy back is done. I was just thinking about welding up all new stuff.

I may just swap some of the parts I want to my main truck, mirrors, clock, seats (maybe) etc. Then get rid of it.

No idea yet. Ive been putting a lot time into my main truck and another car so its been hard to work on 3 things at once.

 

Looks like Ord tape not duct tape. If so she's solid, I'd fly it.

I can’t believe you were driving that, even it that field. That is by far the fugliest and most disturbing looking truck I have ever layed eyes on that said, I will give you 500 for the interior

 

Blue/grey which technically makes mine fuglier than the truck in question....maybe I should Rhino Line it. Including the seats
