we can look at it all day long and never know if toyota will pass it

sure his looks bad...but what toyota is looking for is frame rot...which is the frame rusting from the inside out

that you can only see if theres gaping holes in the frame or you hit it with a hammer

it doesnt look structural...yet. it looks far worse than it actually is. Have them look at it, if it fails...yay for him and you get more than its worth. If it passes then scrape all that flaky rust off and POR-15 the shit out of everything

Im with tigerfan00 got to get under there and bang it with a hammer. If the hammer goes through it fails. Toyota doesnt seem to care if you find the holes yourself. Check the inside of the frame rail near the cross members, leaf spring mounts and etc.

Hey thanks alot guys!! hes taking it to Toyota tomorrow to find out. Yeah we tried pounding it with a hammer to see if it would go through the frame and well it didnt!! To me it seems like its just alot of surface rust and actually underneath that stuff it seems to still be pretty solid atleast where he was pounding at. But I have never saw a truck with so much rust underneath as his. I had my 2002 checked and it passed, but I knew it would cause there is no way near as much as his. Although mine is alot newer too.. Thanks again guys and ill keep you all posted on the results!!
