I called customer service and they told me my vin didnt qualify, frame was properly coated with anti corrosion protection from the factory, so Im stuck with a truck with a hole in the frame. Nice. This would be toyota number 2 for my family out of 7 in 11 years. No more for us.

is your vin before or after the 95-00 range? if after, wouldn't it qualify for the frame swap?

I think I tossed it a few years ago thinking I wouldnt need it, bad move. They use very little salt on our roads. I would also like to know if it said. What Ive read online, it doesnt say anything like that. All I know for sure is I have a frame with holes in it and they do not care

take it to another dealer... unless the holes you think deems replacement do not fit the criteria

I didnt go to the dealer, I called customer service. Maybe I should just go to the dealer and see what they say. Im not sure it would be very common here as they use very little salt on the roads. Im just not real sure what to do next.

i bought an 01 in oct. with a new frame. it went from the dealer to the used car lot when i bought it. iwas sceptical but when i went under it everything was new .frame , springs, all fuel and brake lines you name it . i was told it takes 2 toyota techs less than 30 hrs and its done. i am very happy .press them for the frame maybe they will bite . good luck.

Replaced the frame on my '01 and it's just like new! I'm happy.
He can't press them for a new frame because they don't exist.

Follow Up: Took my '96 4x4 in for the inspection last week finally, prepared for the worst. Instead, I wait 3 hours and they tell me the frame is fine with "just some surface rust" (and I must admit it seems true), and they sent me on my merry way because "unfortunately this is your last inspection". They knew I had 5 months left on my warranty and the manager tried to tell me I was out of warranty and I had original sales receipt showing the first date of sale (thanks for hanging on to that dad) and had to do kindergarten math for him to agree to even inspect it (even though the girl who setup my appt. verified the VIN and I was good until August). Left me feeling like since I was almost out of warranty they didn't want to do anything for me.

So in the end, I kept my truck as-is, and I at least have evidence saying the frame is A-OK, so hopefully I will get the decades I am wanting out of the truck.

Total BS. As stated, I was 6 months before my 15 years was up in September (2011) [this was a month ago], they told me my frame was fine on my 1996 Tacoma and wouldn't even put the coating on it, nevertheless buy it back, saying I only had surface rust. Might depend on the dealer, but my local dealer patted me on the head and sent me on my merry way with a "unfortunately this is your last inspection, have a nice day". Have the docs to show they passed it when the frame falls off a year from now.
