New to the forum. I'm looking at a used 96 V6 auto 4x4 with 186000 miles. Recently serviced; timing belt, water pump, serpentine belt, brakes, radiator, AC condenser, battery.
What else should I look for or be concerned about?
    Thanks for any advice.

Frame rust depending on where you are

Rear axle leaks, usually can see a drip from behind the drum.

Front CV boots, steering rack leaks, misfires, seized brake calipers (poor brake feel, brake pull)

    Frame rust is huge.

Ask when(if) the lower ball joints were last replaced.
Try to get all the general maint info you can, like diff/trans fluid changes, valve adjustments, spark plugs, MAF, O2 sensors, etc.

    1. As was said earlier, check frame rust
    2. As was said earlier, check the entire suspension system
    3. Compression test the motor, and do a leak down test.
    A. the 3.4 is bullet proof little beast when taken care of
    B. just because it is a well engineered motor does not mean it can out live bad maintenance
    4. Check transmission thoroughly
    5. Check all maintenance records.
