My pump is still original at 366k
I did have some drivability issues while out in Wyoming and Colorado while climbing the steps grades, it just lost its mojo at times had to downshift too often
    Fuel pump related

Successfully replaced the fuel pump and the truck fired up instantly. Whole job took me 4.5 hours including cleanup. I think moving the bed is the best way to do this job.

My truck has 6 bolts attaching the bed to the frame, possibly part of the aftermarket hitch receiver. Hardest part was lifting the bed up and onto the tires. I wasn't burly enough to do it alone, so I used a bottle jack to help me get it up on wooden blocks.

Reinstallation of the bed was very easy compared to lifting it up. Something I noticed is there is a proper order to installing the bed bolts: LF, LR, RF, RR. The bolt holes are sized smaller on the left side to ensure proper bed alignment with the frame.

That last photo shows the accumulation of gunk over the 26 last years below the fuel filter. I just left it there. Truck runs great.

Thanks! I'm just happy to have it running again. I had to completely remove the bolts shown in the first photo that attach to the top of the frame. I didn't have to remove any bolts on the hitch itself, but I had an extra set of wires and grounds attached to the bed as part of the hitch electronics.

I would be scared of hitting the bumper  moving it like that
How easily did the wiring harness clips come out of the rear area

How about the filler neck tubing?

if you wanted to slide the bed back any further the filler neck would be a problem, as you can see in the photo. At that point I'd recommend getting help and just lifting the bed completely off the truck.

The bumper wasn't much of a problem at all, though the black plastic covers did get the way a bit. I might pop those off if I used this method again.

Wiring clips were a little stubborn like they always are, but I was able to remove them without breaking any. Just be patient, squeeze hard and use a tool to help push them up from below.

Yeah! There's a flexible bellows section on the neck near the tank. Gotta unbolt the tube support from the frame or it won't move at all though.
