just bought a 96 tacoma v6, 5sp, 4wd. reg cab. problem is, there is a wire harness, on the drivers side dash, up in under the dash, can be seen by laying on your back in the drivers side floor. the harness comes down from the same spot as the clutch/start/cancel harness does. it has five wires in it, the colors are 1-blue, 2-black/white, 3-white/red, 4-green/yellow, 5-white/black.

this harness is connected to nothing, just hanging there. it is partially melted, like it was shorted out. who ever had the truck before, had a paper clip shorted out between two of the wires. the clip fell out, and i dont know what TWO wires the clip was connecting. truck ran fine when i drove it home, when i got it the other day. but now will not run. motor turns over fine, but will not fire up and run.

    1-what is this harness for?
2-what did it originally hook up to?
3-what two wires did the previous owner have connected with the paper clip?

    thanks paul
