Hello I have a 1996 Toyota Tacoma V6 and the 4x4 is not engaging it's a Manuel J pattern 4x4 and the light won't turn on nor will it engage. it will go into 2low but not 4x4 high or 4low how much vacuum does it need to engage? could it be a sensor?

    Oh look, another mod....
Maybe it doesn't want to get engaged? It likes being single and has a fear of commitment!

    4 run, 2 don't
So...what is your transfer case at right now?

Did you put your transmission in neutral to go from LO to HI or vice versa?

Could be engaging but not tripping the light switch.

Sounds like the case works, but you’ll have to do checking on the front axle - does it have vacuum, does the vsv work,
