I just had the first problem I have ever had with my 1997 Toyota Tacoma Xtracab. The driver's side window will not roll down. I guess it is fortuitous that it was not stuck halfway down or something.

Passenger side works fine. Door locks are fine. Everything else is working properly. Fuses look good. Switch Panel in door looks fine. Ohmmeter goes off the on when switch is depressed. No frays or tears in wiring harness.

So I am assuming it is remove the door panel (not that bad to do) and apply voltage to the motor.

How exactly do I do I apply the voltage?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Not sure what you mean when you say the "Ohmmeter goes off then on", but it sounds like you feel the switch is okay...?

I usually use a piece of wire with alligator clips on both ends. 10 feet should be plenty to reach from the battery to the window motor. You should wire a fuse holder in the wire to be safe. Check the fuse size for the windows and match that.

Since only one side is out, should either be the switch or the motor. Simpler than when both are out.
