After removing the door panel (and breaking some of the old plastic clips), I removed the plastic sheeting and sticky sealant.

After that, I cleaned and vacuumed inside and outside the door frame.
Then wiped everything with acetone to ensure a clean surface.
Pretty straight-forward process taking maybe an hour and a half to complete.

Installing the sound deadening matting is also a simple process.
A razor knife, sharpie, large cutting board, hole punch, and hammer are the tools I used.

I took my time trying to ensure I lined-up the holes correctly before punching them out.
Some holes are a little off-center but it will all be covered by the door panel when complete.

I also took my time trying not to break any of the clips holding the electrical wires.
Those are probably harder to find online and replace...

I'm leaving this hole open because new speakers are going to be added once the rest of the interior is done.

I've done my cab but have yet to do the doors. Made a small difference already.

Did you leave easy access to the regulator if it needs to be replaced in the future?

Looks great! Have you noticed any difference? Recently replaced my carpet and put the same stuff down across the entire floor pan. Made such a difference on highway driving.

I can't take credit for the idea of using a leather hole punch.
    I read it somewhere online.
It did help quite a bit with quick clean holes.

I traced the rough outline of the access hole for the window regulator and for the door handle/lock mechanism and lightly cut with the razor knife leaving paper on the sticky backing of the sound deadening mat.
So, in the future, if I have to replace anything inside the door, I will have a less difficult time sticking to everything.

I won't be able to tell a difference for quite a while.
All seats and flooring are removed.
I'm starting over with a clean slate.

I plan to install the sound deadening mat on all interior surfaces.
I hope to be able to carry-on a conversation without having to yell over the tire hum and road/outside noise...
    Time will tell.

I used .45cal empty shells to punch holes and works great.

If you're looking for more insulation, adding jute to the inside of all the plastic panels is a good idea too

From your photos it looks like you may need to roll the mat down more. Typically you're supposed to roll it until the rectangles disappear for the best adhesion/result.
