    Finally bought my supercharger and I'm ready to install it. But I would like to do a few things first like valve cover gaskets and PVC valve. What spark plugs have you had better luck with? Denso ik22 or 20? Or Ngk?

    Thanks. Yea I'm planning to run with the stock pulley for a few weeks to see how much boost I show at sea level stock. Then I'll install the meth kit.

    Yup, see how it goes, seems like a lot of people at sea level have to go with the 7th injection setup,
    these engines react differently for some reason to each setup, good luck

    I have read a lot about to gap or not to gap.
    These plugs are pre gaped at .032 or so and are ready to go.
    Below from another member

    “I have also read that Denso says "do not attempt to change gap on Iridium spark plugs". I read this in a bulletin at the dealership when they installed my 7th."

    So I run them with the pre setup gap.

    I’m not 100 percent what the correct call is but they run great the way they come
    pre gaped and I put dam many miles on a set 75,000 miles.

    Yeah that's where I was coming from. I had heard enough from both sides of the argument, I was in the middle without a clue what I should do. I guess it wouldn't hurt to check them.

    No you don’t run methonal only.

    I run “boost juice” which is 50 percent methonal, 50 percent water,

    Sometimes I fill the tank with half windshield wiper fluid which is rated at 20 below zero (as it’s 30 percent methonal) along with half boost juice (which is 50/50)

    Hey John what are your temps now with the methanol? My scanguage reads 190f all the time, even in 90+ degree weather wit the ac on. I dont hve the blower on yet, but the Stant thermostat I bought is the 170f

    The function of the cooling from the methonal primarily will cool down the supercharger a lot, not Engine temps so much.
    If you run a smaller pulley will definitely help. Engine temps don’t really change for me.
    Engine usually runs 188 degress almost all the time 188-190 with the supercharger and AC on the road.
    When the engine is at idle with outside temps at 97 degrees this week the temp has gone to 195 when stopped at idle and goes back to 188 as soon as the rpms go up to 2000rpms from driving.

    No, I have the 185 stat, I don’t like changing the operating temps that the engine was designed for.
    The new radiator keeps the temps on point at 188-190 even when full boost with AC on,
    even with the 170 stat the engine will not run at 170 degrees
    anyways, there’s lot of thoughts about this.

    Had to replace the bypass O-ring seals on the bypass on the supercharger.
    I had a vacuum leak there, don’t get them from your local parts store.
    You need to have the high temp seal and then use some motor seal permatex sealer.
    JB Performance has the high temp correct size if you need for the 1st gen supercharger.

    No rust anywhere on my truck, maybe because it’s an original Colorado truck.
    So There are actually Tacoma trucks that don’t have rust issues believe it or not out there.

    That's really clean man. I bet people around your neck of the woods keep their cars for longer. Around here people tend to change them every few yrs because they rust to pieces.

    Someone once told me about a town in colorado that the temperature never drops below 20f and above 80. Perfect weather!
