1998-not starting when hot

Hi,
hopefully, I can gain some insight here. I have a 98 and it starts fine when the engine is cold. However, if I start it, then cut the engine off, then start it again, it won't restart after the engine is hot. 1) All electronics in car turn on/ function even when engine won't start. 2) Its not a battery issue 3) Sometimes, the engine wants to turn over to initiate, but won't.

Are you smelling fuel by chance?
Pull spark plugs and see if they smell like fuel.
Could be staying in limp mode.
Also try cleaning MAF sensor.

 

Can you check for any pending codes at home or at a parts store for free? That could help identify what's happening.
