1998 rusty frame Tacoma

Hey guys, I have a 1998 Tacoma with a rusty frame. I didn't know anything about the recalls, issues and all the rest of the mess involved. I tried to sell my truck and guy brought it back because the mechanic who put on new tires said the frame was rusted out. I have owned for 5 years and has always run great. I don't need it anymore, but now I can't sell it because of the rust. Any ideas? Is Toyota still buying these back? It only has 125,000 miles and still runs great.

 

You could always bring it back to the dealer and ask, but the original buyback was only good 15 years from the in service date.

 

Has anyone heard of Toyota offering a buyback after the buyback period? Is NTSB my best bet at this point

 

I tried the buy back road they said my truck was not the right vin gave me the run around till the 15 years was up. So now I am looking for a frame for my truck. One that is not rusted. I like my truck runs great but very disappointed in how Toyota failed to back up their product.

 

They say it is not a recall on the frames. How can that be.
