This is a crossover year so a picture of the engine could help, but here is one for the more common dual coil pack variety of this engine in this year. I attached the PDF too since it is a little clearer than the pictures on here

I should explain what’s going on with the truck. I went to start the truck after it was sitting for a min h or more and found the battery dead so I grabbed my charger/booster and hooked it up and tried it after a couple of minutes but only got clicking starter. I waited a bit and turned the booster on high and jumped back into truck to try again to find smoke coming out from my beer the dash. Quickly shut off booster and dragged/push truck to shop. 15A EFI fuse was burnt. Opened up glove box and got the engine controller out and found the battery terminal trace melted. It’s the E5 no. 2 terminal that has power all the time. When I turn the key to accessory the efi fuse will blow with harness plugged back in. When not plugged in fuse holds. I’ll take a good look at the schematic and see if we can figure things out. Here are a couple more pics of controller.

Since that's very obviously a battery plus terminal on the ECU... Did you hook the jumper up in reverse by accident

    Update.

Checked all the e5 and e8 wires unhooked from the ecm and they ohm out ok. We took a piece of wire and jumped the melted section of the battery terminal. Now the 15 A EFI fuse pops without the key in the ignition. Seems like the ecm is the problem. Opened it up and found the corresponding diodes on the backside seemed to have shorted out. We are thinking of removing the diodes from the board and confirming that they are no good. Does anyone have access to the schematics on these ecm’s? ( 89661-04352) Denso TN175200-2510 12 V
