Does anyone have measurements for the placement of the "TOYOTA TACOMA SR5 V6" badge placement for the tailgate for a 1998 Tacoma TRD?

Measurements ? You don’t need no measurements, just look at a pic and put them on.

I personally like to be pretty accurate when I do things, so I do like measurements if at all possible. I guess it's just the engineer in me. But since I can't seem to find any measurements, I already had taken the picture above (from another source earlier today) and did a ratio to get a pretty close set of dimensions to go by. I guess it's just the engineer in me again.

I know my 1998 Tacoma is a first generation. Also, I just hit the icon to start a thread, I didn't pick which generation it went under. I didn't know that I was inside a second generation thread. Give me a break. I just joined last week and started using the site today. I haven't navigated through all the ins and outs yet to be familiar with how everything is set up. My apologies.

Really bad quality, but this is the paperwork Toyota includes with new OEM emblems.

Anyone have an easier to read copy of that alignment guide? Can't make out a lot of the measurements.

I have no idea. That’s literally how Toyota packaged it with the badge.

I'm so glad I saw this thread. I just got my 2004 repainted and need to replace the badges. I'm very surprised at how hard it is to find the original OEM part numbers and where I can source them that's not insanely expensive. BartMaster1234, your picture helps a lot, but there is one part number I just can't make out and google is failing me. Are you able to tell me the part number for the tailgate badge for 'SR5 V6'? It's the 4th one down. PT211-SR???

    Thank you!

Hey @BartMaster1234, by any chance do you still have that diagram showing emblem placement? I'm putting some of long-saved ones on my 2003 DC 4WD TRD (the originals had lost much of their chrome), and I'd like to use that info to get them as "right" as practical.

I can't find the one you have online anywhere, and none of my OEM emblems have the instructions inside the packet. If you can upload better images of yours or confirm the dimensions below are the same as yours, it would be a help.

I do have this one, which is probably similar to yours. The variation I'm looking to confirm specifically are the "TACOMA SR5" or "TACOMA SR5 V6" styles.

EDIT: I've replaced in this post the original placement scan found online a few years ago with a good-quality scan of an original in my own archive.

It’s probably sitting in a landfill somewhere by now haha. I got it with the “Tacoma” badge as a NOS emblem I bought at a flea market from a retired body shop tech. That’s the best pics I have.

    K -- thx.

Perhaps someone else will come in with a good scan.

    The l
the original itself was pretty bad quality. It seems like it was garbled from the factory

Updated post 11 with good quality scans from an original in my own archive (turns out one of the two black pearl/carbon fiber TOYOTA badges I have had these instructions with it. Note the RAV4 stuff is there, I believe, because the RAV4 of the same time period had the same raised vinyl TOYOTA letters on its spare tire cover as our Tacomas on their tailgates.

Now if someone can post, or at least confirm, that the positioning of the chrome emblems on 2001-2004 trucks are the same as these carbon fiber on the 1998 Prerunner, that would be a big help.
