Alright I got a story for the OP. An older buddy of mine's old man had a 2005 colorado with 5,000 miles on it. (last winter) The old man did not want to drive any more, so the son offered to buy it. It was paid off and the old man had no use for it, so he said give me 2 grand and it's yours. So my buddy got a 5 year old truck in like new condition for only $2000. I about shit when I saw the truck. OP, now no one is gonna shit when they hear your price, so just tell us.

I'd flip it since you'll easily be able to get 10k for it even in that condition.

I will get you some pics this afternoon, when I get home. It is still not 100% clean. My son washed and vacumned it but, he could have done better.

My son has been busy (and tired) with summer training at football and etc. I have been busy at work. Any free time we have had, we have been busy fixing any small problems with it.

So far we have put a chrome back bumper on it, rubber front floor mats, fixed the trailer lights, new rear tire flares, new alarm remote and changed fluids. He has also drove me around through one tank of fuel with no problems so far :D

Here are the latest pictures of my 1998 Tacoma. I have been piddling with it when I have had a chance. My son does not want to clean it up anymore. I guess he wants a woods truck and not a show queen.

I am going to rewire the hunting lights, tint the windows, put in a stereo and then I am finished.

So far the only mechanical problems found are boot on the CV axle had to be replaced. It still had grease but, was cut close to the band. The tire rod end had to be replaced and new boot.

I really appreciate everyone on these boards! You guys have really helped me.

I don't know why people would say "flip it".

If you flip it, you end up with $10,000 and no truck. He still needs a truck. So he could go out and buy a $10,000 truck. What's the best $10,000 truck he could find? The one he just sold.

    OME and worth every penny.
Price sounds like a good deal but not by a fortune by no means. He was taking a gamble (and still kind of is) that things don't go wrong from so much sitting. Make sure and change all fluids in diffs./trans. case too. Lots of southern hunting trucks go through lots of mud and high water. Seals not only keep oil in but keep water out. Can't tell you how 4x4's I've seen eat up diff's from getting full of water and owners assuming their holding tight beace their newish. Not trying to worry you just saying open it up and see what you got. Fronts are especially bad. Lots of drivers from out west don't really understand what shit 4x4's here stay in

I am resurrecting my very first post on Tacoma World.

I am proud to say that my oldest son has turned 16 years old today. He now has a driver's license and he is not afraid to use it!

He drove off in the sunrise in his 1998 Tacoma with 22,000 miles and will probably be returning it this night with 24,000 miles!

I have enjoyed customizing and fixing this truck up for him this past year and I would like to thank everyone on this site for their help along the way!
