Rebuilt my head and replaced filters and plugs 800 miles ago, but I just got a check engine light.

Seems to be running fine (still idles a little high).

I see the N73 diagnostics connector under the hood, but am wondering which OBD reader I need?

    Thanks in advance!

I installed UltraGauge from a TW Group Buy several years ago. It is unique in that it provides realtime info such as MPG, MPH, and much, much more. Also, alarms, including Check Engine codes, with alarms. See at http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/ Mine is a 2000 3.4L PreRunner. I have the wired version that has its own screen/monitor. It plugs into the OBDI connector under the dash, next to the steering wheel.

Since the group buy they came out with the "blue" version, which connects via bluetooth to your smartphone. If I had that, I would use my old, Samsung Smartphone without SIM and leave it permanently in the vehicle. You don't need a cellular connection, just wifi to download software, and bluetooth to connect. I wonder if my 10.1 in. wifi-only tablet would work?? LOL

Any OBD reader should work for basic code info. The connector is universal. You could pick up a cheap one at your local auto parts place.

The obd2 plug is under the dash on the driver side. Where the ignition is, go down to bottom n the plug is there.

800 miles and the CEL just poped... more than likely an evap code. Most auto parts store can run the scan check for you because they want to sell you parts... get the code(s) and come back here for advice.
