Hey everyone, I'm starting a build thread for my Black Truck. The truck was originally sold in the PNW, somewhere in Washington or Idaho. After that, it made its way down to Colorado, where my friend bought it a couple years ago. He then moved to South Carolina, where I bought the truck from him this past February. It is a 1999 3RZ 5 speed 4WD. The engine, transmission, and drivetrain all seem to be in good shape, other than me having to bolt the transmission back into the mount (yikes). The receipts he gave me with the truck suggest that the engine was rebuilt (or at least had extensive internal work done) by Black Label Performance in Colorado Springs around 70ish thousand miles ago.

So far, I have changed out the wheels and tires for the time being (I will be changing out again soon), put a new (to the truck) bed on, gave it a good wash, and other miscellaneous things. Here is a picture of how the truck sits now (06/28/19):

This is how it looked when I got it:

Installed a new shifter bushing, master and slave cylinders, and replaced fluid with MT90:

Removed 2" body lift because it was ugly:

I have big plans and a bunch of parts waiting to be installed soon, including this. So stay tuned!

Laid out all the parts yesterday.

I got the header and old exhaust off and mounted the turbo mani and turbo itself. Also got the oil feed line installed. 0F84EA8E-8B1B-4DC6-8D36-E1C3184D0F84.jpg
This is not the best thought out manifold, because the wastegate sits right where the exhaust needs to turn down.

I got this 2.5” 4-bolt to 3” v-band adapter but I don’t think I will be able to use it with the space limitation of the wastegate placement.

I ordered a 4 bolt flange and some 2.5” tubing. I think I’m gonna make the first few inches of the downpipe 2.5” and then step up to 3 for the rest of the exhaust.

Started fabricating the exhaust today. Clearance with the wastegate is tight. I am hoping I will be able to wrap the whole thing in header wrap.
