It was not a hard driven truck I really didnt expect damn near everything to be wrong with it. There is no rust or dents or any undercarage damage of any kind and was not a off road beater so I expected things to be in good shape still.

Pull the valve cover and check valve lash thats the only way to know.

negative ghostrider, doesnt have one of those.

Maybe on the 22r that was a common issue, not so much with the 2/3RZ, just check it and once the tensioner is fully open, its replacement time

Not a bad idea to have a once over to get a clue about chassis and other stuff, but I would do the tune up regardless, its not expensive and use denso or NGK plugs ONLY!

You'll have to pull the valve cover (and replace its gasket while you're there!) and check the valve lash.
I can't remember the specs off the top of my head, but there will be a sticker on the underside of your good with the specs.

Also, my last comment wasn't even for you. It was for everyone else screaming "distributor cap and rotor" when you clearly stated you had a 99.

Thanks for the info. I will have to take it to a shop to check the valves as I have no valve tool to do it and not sure how to in the firts place. I guess I will do the tune up as you say. I did blow some seafoem thru the bb vaccum line if that counts lol what do you suggest for tune up on the 2.7 besides filter and plugs and wires and oils ? I cant find how to clean the idle air control valve or the TPS sensor anywhere..I want them both tomorrow as they are free to clean as I have carb cleaner which woulod work to clean them I hope lol

DON'T CLEAN SENSORS WITH CARB CLEANER!!!! It will ruin your sensors. There is a spray in a red can its made specifically for TPS, MAF, an other sensitive sensors. Can't remember the manufacturer of it but its in a red aerosol can can called maf cleaner I think. You can get it at any parts store and maybe at Walmart.

CRC makes a MAF cleaner (silver can) and a regular sensitive electronics contact cleaner (red can). Both work fine for cleaning sensors like the MAF.

Hmm I will use my MAF cleaner to clean the IAC then if I deside I have the day to spend doing it. I just dont know if its the problem but I guess no way to tell unless I just clean it. and as for the valves adjustment I am not sure when I can get that done. Just hope it does not ruin my motor if they are not set right. I have no idea if its ever been done and its got 163,000 miles on it
