1999 base wheel/tire size

I have a 1999 base single cab 4x2 tacoma I would like to get larger tires and wheels on and eventually a lift.

It currently has 195/75R14 on. I'm looking at either 225/75R15 or preferably 265/75R15.

Eventually a 2"-3" lift is also planned but that won't be for a while.

I am not a particularly mechanically inclined person so looking for advice if these would work? If so which would be better? I'm leaning towards the 265/75R15 since I think they'd look better with the lift but worried they won't work well with out a lift.

Is this a 5 lug or 6 lug? That makes a difference in what your options are.

 

I’m 99 percent sure it’s a 5 lug because he has 14s on it now
