Im scraching my head on this one. my sons car had the indicator lamp lit that indicates a rear lamp out. checked all the lamps and they are ok. Any suggestions as it is really annoying looking at this light illuminated.

Check it with the lights both on and off. One of my front blinker/side marker lights is out and I only get the "warning" when the lights are on.

Did you check the third brake light? So far, that's the only one back light of mine that has burned out.

My mom's Camry had the same issue. I can't remember if I actually fixed it or not. You might try a Camry specific forum as this may be a common issue.

Even though the lamps are lit, have you checked blinkers, reverse lights and license plate...not sure...tossing it out there.

Perhaps the brake light filament is out (the filament that illuminates only when the braake pedal is pressed)?
