I have wanted a Toyota Tacoma for a long time and I have finally got one. Now, I have a really dumb question! I can't seem to figure out how to get it into 4 Hi or 4 Lo, can anyone help? Thanks.

there should be a shift knob on the left next to your gear shift. 4 high just keep your wheels straight and press the button. 4lo put both shifters in neutral then move the 4wd shifter into 4l then the gear shift into drive. if you dont have the knob you dont have 4wd. btw welcome to tw :)

Okay, you probably don't have push button 4wd on the shifter so all you do is make sure you are on dirt, push the clutch in, move the 4wd shifter to 4hi or 4low, whatever you want, then it should be good to go.

Do you have a short lever next to your shifter?

Man, that would really suck balls if the OP bought a Tacoma thinking it was 4x4 & not knowingly got a prerunner.

I mistyped when I said that it was V6 3.0. It is actually a 3.4. Also, yes it has both shifters like in the picture from whippersnapper02. I also mistyped in my first post when I said that I couldn't get it into 4HI or 4LO, I meant 4HI and 2HI. It seems like the pattern on the shifter know is different from the pattern that the shifter actually follows. Hope that helps, sorry about all of the confusion. Thanks.
