    Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and actually trying to help out a friend whose fuel pump is failing. The shop wants about $700.00 as we all know money is a little tight. I thought the two of us could change it out our selves for a lot less. The research I've done leads me to believe it's easier to remove the bed than lower the tank from below. I'm sure there are posts on this site addressig this but i have not been able to find them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, what fuel pump is everyone using? There seem to be a huge difference in price between ebay and dealer.

    Thx for your help

    Rick

I did it myself in my 96 take off the 4 bolts in the front . And take the 2 back one almost off. And lift the bed like a dump truck. And you can get the pump . I took me about a 1 1/2 to do it.

6 bolts, a few electrical connections in the tail-lights and the whole bed comes right off. Ratchet straps and roof joists make short work of lifting it up. A couple of peeps can take it completely off with a little more work.

Thanks guys. So the cheap ebay pumps are okay. That's good news. It doesn't look too bad. I'll shoot for next weekend.

No idea on the Ebay stuff. I got a Walbro from URD for the 7th Inj kit. Works fine but loud as hell. I ordered another brand from Gadget asking for a quieter one. He sent a DeatschWerks one that cost about the same as the Walbro. I still have to get it installed.
