    You'll be fine, it's a Toyota, simple and well-organized. And it's a 4-cylinder

Try to take pictures as you're taking stuff apart, it'll help later.

Going in with the engine I picked up. It's a 97 but looks good. It's fully assembled all I have to do is drop her in. Man I tell u it wasn't easy getting it in and mated up to the transmission. It really worked on my patience. But I'm bolting her up and reassembling everything. Man I hope all goes well.

Im getting a new HG, and oem head from toyota on my truck rn at 125k miles. Kind of jealous the miles youve gotten from yours, but figure since doing it all rn should be good for another 200-300k (fingers crossed). I had been chasing a missfire for months now and turns out thats what it was. Compression check showed 118 psi in cyl 3, and 160 in cyl #2, and im leaking coolant into the cyl. Sucks to suck in my case

I decided to use the wiring harness that was already on the 1997 2.7l and it came from a Tacoma that had a manual transmission. I do not see the connections that go to my transmission (which is an automatic) ....God any advice around this guy's.?? The harness for my 1999 has some damaged connections. The guy I had help me remove the old engine smashed a couple connection by accident. I'm stumped at this point.

I'm surprised the engine wiring mated up.. is that 97 the twin coil pack design?

As far as transmission connections are concerned take a picture of what you have and try to get wire colors... it'll be tracing a wiring diagram at that point

Screenshot_2020-09-20-21-54-45.jpg can anyone please tell me if they recognize this part. I put the 2.7l from a 1997 in my 99 prerunner and while doing so made the mistake of not taking photos. A mistake that I will never make again.the replacement engine came fully dressed so some parts were not needed. Please if anyone knows what this part is it would be SO HELPFUL.

I was guessing at an ac line because the block (on the right of the photo) looks like it goes on a compressor or the condenser and the flare nut on the other side isn't anything I recognize from when I rebuilt my motor.

It's definitely not anything attached to the motor anyway
