Hi, can someone please post a copy of a fuel sending unit diagram? I need to find the ground wire at the sending unit so I can add a separate ground to make my gauge work. thanks

1928 is from the 1998 wiring diagram
1929 is from the 2000 wiring diagram

so I am assuming that your 1999 is the same.

Blue and White/Black are the fuel pump.

The yellow /Red and Brown are the sending unit. The yellow /blue wire is for the low fuel light that it seems your truck does not have my 2000 does not have it either.

What are you trying to fix?

Have you tested the sending unit they do fail after time.

Hi, the sending unit is new. The brown in my picture is ground? If it is I will need a grounding wire to it.

New does not mean it works all to often any more.

Depends if you bought some foreign universal sending unit

If it plugs in you should be good to go if you need to install your plug just remember the brown is your ground.

It does not mean other problems in the harness or gauge itself don`t exist

I did not. I hooked up a ground wire to the brown wire at the fuel sending unit and no good. Thinking of replacing the gauge. Anyone have an extra I could buy?

Where did your new sending unit come from?? Toyota for the year you have so the gauge and sending unit are able to communicate they are not all the same over the years.

You did check it was the gauge that failed before you installed the new one quite easy to check and it is also to check the gauge .

Break out the Meter figure out the issue .

Physical damage to the harness ?

    Good luck

I bought the sending unit from toyota. If I remember I did check it with a meter. I have the old one and my bed is off the truck now do to an accident. The harness looks to be good.Do you by any chance know what the readings should be at the sending unit? Thanks for helping me by the way.
