Black Tail Light Mod (BTLM) Complete. I've had in on for a little over a week now. Pressure washed them and everything. No leaks and no fog to this point :D

    Those look PERFECT!

Did you do something to get the black outline of the tail light as in the perimeter of the housing? Also, how did you get the lens to be clear? I know the lens comes with a shade of pink, stock.

I did outline the outer edge with paint to cover up the marks you get from cutting them apart. And in order to get the clear lens I had to buy a set of ebay for like $160 just to get the lens. Expensive project that I don't recommend

On a side note, started making a new grille for my truck. Going to be using a stainless steel wire mesh. Tried using a grinder to get through because that's all I had available yesterday, but that wasn't working very well at all. I made it about and inch.

    cp1_1207091714_d9a1cf0335443a620f0d6615a8d5eef5774fb522.jpg

Today when I'm off I'm going to try with a diamond blade. Since I'll have it out do you think I could use that on the cab mounts or would I be better off using a Sawzall?

use a angle air grinder with a 3" cut off wheel. Your truck is sickk! The best looking black tacoma I have seen yet.

    Thanks! :D

I bought the billet grill off ebay. The seller was California Auto Performance.
    http://myworld.ebay.com/californias-auto-performance

I did have to bend it a little bit here and there to fit in perfectly. It was a little flat on one end so I curved it so it would sit in flush.

Don't the x-runners come with tail lights that are blacked out like that? I could be wrong but the few that I have seen have those or similar tail lights but they look good!

Nope they come with the same lights as the rest of the tacomas. However, I got the idea because a couple x-runner guys did the mod first.

Well I tried to snap a couple quick pics before the sun went down since I gave the truck its first wash in over a month. Only real update so far is that I have Demello Hybrid Sliders welded on.

Saw your thread, your truck looks good. Wish I would've given installing my spindles a shot, would have more money for mods.

Well I have the new taillights in hand, not sure if I'm going to leave them as is or change them up a little bit. Hopefully, I'll be able to make a decision after SCMD that way I can get a few more ideas.

I'm going to guess and say I probably put 5 hours into those taillights were on them here and there each day. Most likely be selling them in the next month, as I decided that I'm going a new route.
