I picked up a set of 09 taillights, so I'm probably going to tint them.

 

Oh got it that's cool. I'm gonna try the BTLM on a taillight I have sitting around and if it comes out good I might do it to the 09's I have.

 

Ya I'm I thought about doing it to the 09's but I don't want to chance messing up. The ones I did look great from outside 5 feet, but when you are up close on the edge that lines up the the sides of the truck it isn't very clean. I couldn't get a smooth line when resealing them. The silicone is a little ripply.

 

Yeah that's what I fear of having so that's why I'm trying it on the extra one I have at home to see if I really wanna do it to the 09's.

 

Aren't there a couple xrunner guys up your way that have done this mod? I think they both have speedway blue x's. Maybe they could lend a hand or give you some tips. Theirs looked really good in all the pics I saw of them.

 

Yeah I know for sure vince is in benicia which is a short little drive from me. I might have it brought up at the mod day that PreRunnerSeth is holding next month.

 

Thanks Amir. Seeing your truck getting all this new fab work done is making me what to get some new things done. Is that your friend doing all the work? If I were to get something done I would love to get a prerunner bumper made and throw some glass up front.

 

yea let me hit em up... i had a some peps asked me about it... he wants to make a template of my truck so he can make them as "production" in a sense... ive been debating if i want to take the front bumper off or not lol... but u already know that... ay how high is your rear...??? 2 or 3 inches...??? and what is your front set as well...???

I'm thinking about doing spindles on mine! I want it high enough for 35"s.

 

Very nice truck 1BLKT. Are your coilover's set at 0 with a 3" lift in back? Do you know what setup the red tacoma has?

 

My truck has the spindles with coilovers set at about 1.25 to 1.5 inches with a Deaver 11pack in the rear giving me somewhere between 2.25 and 2.5 inches in the rear.

My brothers red truck has spindles with coilovers set at 2 inches and a deaver 12 pack giving him 2.5 to 2.75 inches of lift in the rear. I think he got his deavers after the pick I posted of his truck though.

 

Sweet thanks, im getting spindles soon and am trying to figure out where im going to set my 5100's. Does your brother go to CSUF? I was checking out a tacoma in the parking lot the other day and it looks exactly like your brothers.

 

Yup that wouldve been his. I think he goes on Tuesday/Thursdays. I just finished up there last semester.

Maybe go with the .85 or 1.75" setting. Do you want it slightly higher up front or level?

Yeah it was on thursday, those pictures dont do your trucks justice they look so much higher in person. Im throwing a 2" aal in the rear with camburg spindles and adjustable 5100's in the front and I want it to be a little higher up front.

 

I'd love to get a prerunner bumper like the ones on the DMZ trucks, but ideally I think I'll keep saving until I can have a bumper like the one on this truck in the link along with some glass and LT/

 

Truck looks good Ty. I'll have to get a grill someday when I am finished with the other mods.
