Jon Bond Performance has it on his youtube channel. I apologize but I've lost the link. You have to fabricate a special tool to get it done - I tried all sorts of pullers that didn't work because the area is way too awkward, so I bit it and built the tool he describes in the video. With that tool, the old bearings come out like slicing warm cheese.

Ok man, it's your truck and your engine. This is unchartered territory for me. I'm just telling you what I have heard of from people doing this long before us so you can decide. I hope it runs forever.

Sparky's Tacoma, was his screen name. Then he built the engine and ported the crap out of the lower plenum and s/c, where the mate.

Dropped his psi down to ~10. Picking up more power.

Then he sold his truck. XRunner with an auto swapped in.

Here's a bit of an update for you guys, I have been thinking about this. There are a couple of things that could explain the "unicorn truck" that I seem to have created here.

I run 94-octane fuel made by Husky, and only that fuel. This fuel is empirically proven to be the best knock resistance fuel made in Canada - the other option is made by Suncor (sold at Petro Canada gas stations) and it is not as good at resisting knock.

The fuel has a very high ethanol content - 10%. So, with the 7th injector running full-out, this is the equivalent of 60ml/min of methanol injection. That could explain why I haven't knocked to death. Yet.

As far as the fuel delivery goes, based on your info above, it is possible that with the 7th injector at nearly 100%, the port injectors at 100%, and the redline at 5500rpm, there's just barely enough fuel delivery.

Very good. I'm sure the meth does help, as well as the 94 octane of course.
Do you have the utune software to datalog from the ucon? That would give us a lot of valuable info. Injector dc and maf for estimated hp would be nice to know.

I do not have the utune software. I assume that's something I can request from URD?

Usually only if you are having some sort of issue with the ucon. It allows Scott (the ucon developer/tuner) to remote into your ucon via laptop. You have to contact URD first and tell him if you have any obd2 codes pop up that the ucon should be masking.

    @Roostfactor @White lightning boosted

I found this $3.94 (well, maybe $28.94 if you include fuel because I had to go home to get a breaker bar) idler from some european car's timing belt at the junkyard. It's even adjustable!

I did notice a difference. The throttle response is better, MAYBE a little more power.

@Torspd I didn't actually look. I think it was a volvo or an audi. It was a relatively small longitudinal engine V6.

@Torspd I have been considering porting the lower intake. Are you aware of any threads on this? Have you done it to yours?

Also, auto swaps are totally rice.

    No I sure dont.
I did port my lower intake manifold slightly but I dont have pics. It was mainly port matching to the sc ports and cleaning up the ports. It's a 2 piece manifold. Dont take it apart, just clean up the ports where the 2 pieces meet.
