Not sure if many or any remember a post I made a few months back, having to do with my cam gear shearing off, and whether to replace just the cams or the entire head all together. I ended up going with a remanufactured head mainly because of cost, warranty and it came as a complete assembly. Valves, cams and bearings. I’m about 90% done, just have a few more things to finish up. My question today is, what kinda of break in procedure if any should I do following this repair?? Other parts replaced include, complete timing kit, exhaust manifolds, all o2 sensors, vvt solenoids, as well as any o rings seals or gaskets that were removed, a few other random things here and there.
I also replaced the transmission filter and pan only because the old one had a decent sized dent in it.
all feedback and advice is appreciated, thank you.
