I want to get long tube headers to delete my two main cats and complete my cat deleteon my 4.0 v6 tacoma. Does anyone run longtube headers and a flowmaster super 44 with no cats? How does it sound? Vids are appreciated!

Suggest to not delete the cats.

The decision will bite in the long haul.

There really isn't a need to delete the cats, but if you choose to your truck will be loud and will drone, and you will need O2 sims to kill the CEL.

I have Doug Thorley headers on my rig and am about to undertaker sound deadening the cab to get rid of the header ticking and tone down the exhaust some and hopefully eliminate all the road noise which just fatigues the hell out of me on long trips which are semi regular.

Still have my cats, and the muffler is TRD and I wouldn't want it any louder. It's got a nice noticeable grunt to it and a reasonable base tone without being showy even when in the throttle. It doesn't pop but it has a little baby crackle from time to time.

@ovrlndkull still thinks it too loud though.

Like I said I wouldn't want it any louder, I might be getting old though.

Do you have any videos of the sound? I like the tone the flowmaster super 44 gives it but its just not as loud as i want it. I already have a secondary cat delete but i guess my young ears want more lol.

If the 44 isn't enough the TRD which is still 50 state compliant (though possibly not with the headers) definitely won't be enough.

I don't have any good videos unfortunately.

It sounds aggressively stock to me.

Enough noise to know it's running, but not enough to draw attention.

I think stock Tacoma's sound like Prius, as in you can't hear them at all.

I have equal length headers, stock y pipe, and a flow master 10

    it sounds like absolute garbage.

hope to get an equal length y pipe to change the tone then probably put the stock muffler back on or TRD with a big resonator if needed

This is why these motors sound bad.

    1-2-3-4-5-6 firing order.

Regaurdless of how your resonate the tone or volume it's always going to be more or less this:
