    Hi,

I'm just documenting the OEM part number and measurement for the engine block tight plug aka freeze plug or core plug for the 1GR-FE V6.

For some reason this info was not easy to find online. Even my local Toyota dealer parts counter couldn't identify the correct plug from a list that their system has for the truck. Toyota lists part numbers but not dimensions, and other than stating 'fits 490 engines' or similar, it doesn't indicate which plug is for which area on the block or even heads. Maybe this will help others.

96411-63500 is 35mm in diameter and this is the correct freeze plug part for the block.

96411-63000 is 30mm in diameter. I'm not sure where this would be used, but I'm just putting it in the post so maybe it helps someone else identify whether this fits where they need it.

And now that I look at the part numbers written out above, I see that perhaps the last four digits of the part number indicates the diameter? OMG. A little late to realize that.

We're doing an engine refresh on this engine. Heads were rebuilt professionally, new pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets and seals, oil pump, timing chain and parts. It's a project vehicle with and for my 16 y/o son. We're active and experienced automotive DIY'ers, not professionals but learning a lot along the way.
