    Hey guys,

I was talking with a friend of mine the other day about simple and effective ways to get power out of the 1GR. He brought up a point about switching the tune in the Tacoma to that of the 4Runner. Good idea at first however I gave him my reasoning for why it wouldn't work. Although the blocks are identical, the heads differ to a degree. The taco only has vvti on the intake cam where as the 4Runners untilize the dual vvti. A lot more involved than just switching tunes. It makes sense though considering it is an na motor, and like any na motor relies on back pressure out the yin yang. My friend asked me why they would do that on the tacomas only. My response.... Dat torque curve. Anyone else have anything to add to this???
