That one is great. After all, it is a classic...but I'm a sucker for good cover songs. That's the whole reason I bought the Gipsy Kings version.

Hell yeah. I grew up on country and what I like to refer to as "original rock," meaning a whole lot of Elvis.

If you like Foreigner, you may like .38 Special and Journey. That is, of course, if you haven't already heard them.

The song that you will more than likely recognize from .38 Special is "Hold on Loosely."

    Bingo!

    Welcome to Mid-Shift, tacomaman06!

Ooh, Johnny Cash is, for lack of a better word, a legend. I'm more a fan of older (80's) country. Alabama and George Strait are some I listen to on occasion.

I'm sittin' here reading the "Better Gas Mileage" thread, and every two minutes, my outlook e-mail pings me saying there's a new post on here, and I just had to see what y'all were babbling about.

With that said... Skynrd? Foreigner? Journey and .38 Special?

Nice choice in tunes, guys.

not too bad, but not really my thing. i can only take rap in small doses, and i do mean small. i'll listen to eminem, just because his rhymes are crazy, and jay-z is cool, and ludacris has some good stuff, but thats about it.

im just a good ol' boy who listens mostly to good ol' southern rock, and of course, country mostly!!:)

i also like frank sinatra, elvis, louis armstrong, and even elton john too.

I think that if Jim Morrison were still alive, he might be all for the mash-ups. The first time I heard that version was on Need For Speed: Underground 2, and really liked it. For some reason, Snoop's collaborations/mixes always end up sounding great. I think that's the sign of a REAL artist. He puts the focus of the piece on the old while accenting it with the new.

The second song, I'm not really a fan of.

If you want better gas mileage, I think listening to Skynyrd might give you a 1-2 MPG boost...:D

Were you participating in the thread where I posted the video for Alabama Thunderpussy's song "Words of the Dying Man"? If you like a "harder" type of music, you may like that. I call it "Southern Metal."
