    Yeah we don't see the greatest service from them here either. That's why I have very little hesitation replacing the truck eventually.

    A 1KD-FTV conversion package can be had for 8-10K AUD sourced from an Aussie vehicle plus freight.
    These can and have been done in your Tacoma's before and I currently have two on their way to me for processing and export to the USA. They are both to go into Tacoma's over there.
    EGR can now be blocked via ECU reflash and along with a tune they go like a cut snake. From what I understand this conversion is 50 state legal.

    Have you looked into the R2.8 Cummins motor? I am considering my swap options for my 07 for when the 4.0 eventually pops and diesel seems like a far better solution than another gas motor. It appears similar in power and build to the 1KD. Advantages I can see are the factory north american support and the fact it is a brand new engine. Only downfall is cost.
