hey guys, I just bought my first 4x4 Tacoma 2005. this is my 4th Toyota, but 1st 4wd vehicle. I have been exploring this site for a while and am really looking forward to learning a lot. this site seems to be a honey hole for a wealth of great info. I really don't have any experience with any mechanical workings, but am eager to learn more and get involved with the group and maybe meet up with some local guys for guidance. I have a 2014 4runner limited as well as a 2000 tacoma pre-runner. I seem to have a problem letting go of any of my Toyotas... lol. I am sure many of you feel the same way. I just bought this truck a week ago and am going to take it to my mechanic this weekend to get it looked over to make sure I don't have any major issues to deal with before I get it on the road (or off road for that matter). I am super excited about my new acquisition and hope to get out sometime soon.

thanks, brother. I feel like a kid on xmas. I can't wait to open my present.. lol. I got underneath and the frame did not show any rust to mention. it was originally purchased here in the Houston area and according to the title has stayed local the whole time. from what I read so far, it seems that a rust problem is usually more common in places that have snow/ ice and salty roads. but I will have a pro look at it as well. thanks for the tip. I think I just saw that the recall will end at the end of this month?
